Volocity® 5.4 for Macintosh® requires Mac® OS X 10.5.8 or higher
Volocity® 5.4 includes performance enhancements for systems using ProSync 2 controllers. The acquisition of 3D stacks has been shown to be up to 170 % faster* than in Volocity 5.3.2. This requires Volocity 5.4 and ProSync firmware version 3.10, installed by Improvision Hardware Drivers 2.5.
*Example result using UltraVIEW® VoX, C9100-50 camera, 1 ms exposure, 16x binning, acquiring 20 images at 200nm separation, ProSync 2, Volocity 5.4 running on 64-bit Windows® 7. Actual performance improvement may be less depending on the acquisition protocol.
Automatic alignment and shading correction is now available for images acquired by Volocity from multiple fields of view.
Stitching is performed as part of a Volocity Acquisition protocol. The options for generating stitched images are available in the “Stitch” tab of the Acquisition Setup dialog.

Capture images made up of multiple fields from a Region of Interest (ROI) or around point(s). Optionally apply automatic alignment, shading correction and storage of the raw images. The stitching functionality can now also use a focus map to take variation in the sample substrate into account. Alternatively, the option to autofocus each of the fields is available.

Support for image files from PerkinElmer Harmony® software (generated by PerkinElmer Operetta® High Content Imaging Systems) has been added to Volocity. The formats “Index and Images” and “Index with Referenced Images” are supported. “Index with Referenced Images” does not contain image files but references a Harmony database. This database must be available when the files are imported into Volocity so that the image files may be retrieved.

Support for TIFF files created by Olympus® xcellence and cellˆR systems is now available.
Support for image files created by MetaMorph® software has been extended to support the Meta Imaging Series® TIFF format as created by MetaMorph® 7.5 software and later.
It is now possible to export image files from Volocity in the MATLAB® v5 format (compatible with MATLAB® versions 5 and 6).
Volocity 5.4 now offers additional support for the Zeiss® AxioImager Z2 microscope and Prior® LumenLED fluorescence illuminator.
Volocity 5.4 fully supports User Account Control (UAC) in Windows 7.
