Please note this feature is only availble in Openlab versions 3.0.3 and later.

When a tab is required in the Setup of the Automator task "Write to User Notes" type "t". Should the text "t" actually be required to appear in the user notes type "\t". The usual conventions of Automator syntax should be obeyed when combining text and variables.

For example:

"This is a list of values"+str(a)+"t"+str(b)+"t"+str(c)

If a was 10, b was 5 and c was 99 you would get:

This is a list of values10 5 99

The 'tab' is represented as a single space in the User Notes but User Notes can be copied and pasted into a spreadsheet which recognises tab delimited text. Here text separated by "t" will be placed in separate columns. The tab key is allowed when typing directly into the User Notes window of an image document.
