Improvision and QImaging have identified a bug in the firmware of model B Retiga 1300, EX and QICAM cameras. This bug leads to a failure of the software trigger, a feature of model B cameras which Openlab exploits to increase frame capture rates. The fix is implemented in a firmware upgrade which must be performed by QImaging at their facility.

QImaging have implemented a procedure for free of charge upgrades of cameras.

Model B cameras are identified by the presence of a capital letter B within the serial number.

Users should contact Jennifer Vanderleest, Customer Sales Support at QImaging, quoting the serial number of their camera.

They will then be provided with an RMA (Return Material Authorisation) and instructions for shipping the camera.

QImaging have stated an expected turnaround, following receipt of the camera, of 3 days.

All Openlab users with model B cameras are advised to upgrade their cameras.

If you have any questions please contact your local Improvision technical support centre.
